Namadhu Pangu was started in the year 2008 from the visionary of Arutchelvar. Dr.N.Mahalingam that “If India has to continue her journey to progress and development, her villages has to develop.  Industry and livelihood creation must go hand in hand with socialdevelopment and participation of youth”.

Namadhu Pangu is an integrated community development initiative of Kumaraguru College of Technology which strives towards enhancing the quality of life of people dwelling in the neighbouring villages surrounding KCT (Chinnavedampatti, Anjugam Nagar, Udayampalayam, NG Pudur and Chinnamettupalaym) by effectively utilizing the talent and expertise of committed students and faculty members who are keen to bring a change in the lives of underprivileged.

Namadhu Pangu is a unique partnership that believes in commitment and expertise. The primary aim of NP is to sensitize the students on the opportunities and concerns of the society and encourage them to participate in the social construction. Here a solution for the social issues faced by the society are provided by our expert team and are executed by committed student volunteers to enhance the social well being.

Namadhu Pangu is a volunteer driven program dedicated to enrich the community life. As of now, Namadhu Pangu is working with 5 Primary themes:

  5. Youth Empowerment.

Education:

Rural Learning Centre (RLC) helps rural Children to have greater access to education which runs on all weekdays. Student volunteers from K-Institutions actively engage in helping the rural students to reach their academic goals and also support in holistic development of the students.

Scholarships : Scholarships are provided to around 200 students every year. Scholarships are provided in the form of learning support materials, that are generally not provided by The Government.

Infra-Structural support : Infrastructure support is provided  to all the five schools that would enhance the learning experience of the students and provide comforts, based on the need of each school. We have  provided Steel benches, writing desks, Drinking water Tanks etc. Also, supported the schools in building compound walls for the safety of the students.

Days of national importance such as Independence Day, Children’s Day, Gandhi Jayanthi and Republic Day will be celebrated with the school children where they actively participate in many activities like fun games, painting & magic show.

Namadhu Pangu organises Teacher Training Programs to enrich them on fundamentals of computing & other professional skills.

NP connects the rural students with the scientific world by organizing visits to Science Fest, Educational Workshop, Regional Science Centre & any other new initiatives in Coimbatore.

Health :

We provide 200 ml milk every Friday to all 600 students studying in the five schools in the project area with the help of Namadhu Pangu Volunteers to increase the nutritional value in their diet. This has enhanced the attendance of the students and improved their health.

NP regularly organizes Vaccination camp (MMR/Typhoid) in the adopted village schools.

We record and monitor the health of school children’s by measuring height and weight, we also follow-up with the required medical guidance to improve their health.

Women Empowerment :

Women development is one of the key functions of NP, where women are taken to industries and institutions to make them aware of the new opportunities.

Skill training programmes such as Tailoring, Hand Embroidery, making paper & wire bags, Quill training are regularly organized and those who are trained are supported with production and marketing.

Namadhu Pangu celebrates women’s day on the International Women’s Day to felicitate & award women who makes a difference and who have not been recognized in any Forum earlier.

Environment :

Tree plantation is an important initiative to preserve Mother Nature, where we planted Sapling varieties like Rain tree, Sivakundalam , Iyalvaagai , Ashoka & Badam.

School children are taken for bird watching which helps them to understand Nature; we also organize awareness sessions about the importance of a clean and plastic-free campus.

NP volunteers clean every school in five villages and started kitchen garden in all five schools, the vegetables & fruits from that garden are used daily for lunch in schools.

Youth Empowerment :

Peace Festival – As a value building initiative – NP joins Shanthi Ashram in organizing peace Festival every year. KCT students and school children actively participate and engage them in the initiative

Namadhu Pangu coordinates with Mangayarkarasi trust & organizes value camp for school children every year. Around 300 children from 7 districts participate in the 5 days residential camp at KCT during their summer holidays.

Thevaram is a soulful rendering to Lord Shiva and Thevarap Pannisaip Potti is an effort to promote this extraordinary tradition and bring awareness amongst youngsters as a tribute to Ayya on his birth anniversary. Namadhu Pangu in association with Mangayarkarasiar Trust organises TPP every year to identify and honour the young students who learn and perform Thevaram and Tamil Isai.

SEA partners with ZOHO University in conducting their recruitment drive in Coimbatore & Pollachi Region, we have been doing this annual event for the past four years from 2015. We visit many government & private schools across this region and provide this opportunity for the children. Selected students are absorbed immediately into the ZOHO University after completing their class 12.

Key Features:

  • Training period is 24 months with Stipend
  • Training will happen at Zoho University, Chennai at free of cost
  • No Agreements or bonds
  • After successful completion students are absorbed as “Software Engineers” with salary & benefits above par with industry

Eligibility:

  • 17 to 20 years of age
  • +2 or 10th + Diploma completed
  • Even if you have failed in the +2 exam you can attend the drive
